VideoHero Privacy Policy

VideoHero is a desktop application that turns PowerPoint presentations into narrated videos. This Privacy Policy explains how VideoHero handles information when you use the app.
Local processing
Section titled “Local processing”VideoHero processes the presentations, PDFs, narration text, recordings, generated audio, subtitles, project data, and exported videos you select or create locally on your Mac. VideoHero does not upload this content to the developer’s servers.
The app accesses only files and folders you select or authorize through macOS. Your local projects and exported files remain on your device until you delete them.
Information we collect
Section titled “Information we collect”VideoHero does not require an account and does not use advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking. The developer does not collect your payment-card information.
If you voluntarily contact support or submit feedback, the developer receives the information you choose to provide. A feedback submission may also include technical information shown to you by the app, such as the app version and basic system information, to help diagnose the issue. Do not include confidential or sensitive content in feedback.
Purchases and subscriptions
Section titled “Purchases and subscriptions”In-app purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Apple handles billing and payment information. VideoHero receives transaction and entitlement information needed to unlock Pro features and manage access. Apple’s handling of information is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Model downloads and external services
Section titled “Model downloads and external services”When you choose to download an AI model, VideoHero may connect to third-party model or software hosting services such as Hugging Face, ModelScope, or GitHub. These providers may receive standard connection information, including your IP address and request metadata, under their own privacy policies. Your PowerPoint files, narration, recordings, and generated videos are not sent as part of a model download.
When you open a help, privacy, license, or subscription-management link, your browser connects to the relevant website. That website handles connection data under its own privacy policy.
Data sharing and retention
Section titled “Data sharing and retention”The developer does not sell your personal information. Information is shared only when you initiate a feature that uses Apple or an external service, when needed to respond to support you requested, or when required by law.
VideoHero project data remains locally on your device. You can delete projects and generated files using the app or Finder. Information sent voluntarily for support is retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain support records, and meet legal obligations.
Children’s privacy
Section titled “Children’s privacy”VideoHero is not directed to children, and the developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
Section titled “Changes to this policy”This policy may be updated when VideoHero’s features or legal obligations change. The current version and its effective date will be published on this page.
